Is Pre-IPO Hype legit?
Written and maintained by Pre-IPO Hype. Last reviewed September 16, 2026.
Short answer: yes. Pre-IPO Hype is a real, operating marketing and investor relations agency, not a pre-IPO share marketplace. Jeff Wenzel founded it and runs it out of Detroit, Michigan. The work is investor marketing, investor CRM, investor data, and IR support for founders who are actively raising capital.
Pre-IPO Hype is not a broker-dealer. It is not a registered investment adviser. It is not a funding portal. We do not sell securities, we do not sell pre-IPO shares, and we do not accept investor money.
If you came here to buy pre-IPO stock, we are not that kind of company.

What we are, and what we are not
What we are
A marketing and investor relations agency. We work for founders who are actively raising capital.
- Investor marketing and campaign execution
- Investor CRM setup and management
- Investor data and list work
- IR support during and after a raise
That is the whole list.
What we are not
Pre-IPO Hype is not a registered broker-dealer, investment advisor, or investment company under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 or the Investment Company Act of 1940. We do not provide investment advice, recommendations, or offers to buy or sell securities.
- Not a funding portal
- Not an issuer of securities
- Paid by founders for marketing services, never a commission on capital raised
- We take no cut of a raise
Founders pay us for marketing work. Our fee does not move when their raise does.
About the name: "Pre-IPO Hype" means building visibility and investor awareness for companies at the pre-IPO stage. It does not mean selling pre-IPO shares. The SEC has published warnings on investor.gov about "pre-IPO share" offers. Those warnings concern people selling shares of private companies to investors. We are not in that business. Our disclosures are at /compliance.
What we actually do
Investor marketing
Campaign strategy, creative, paid media management, and landing pages built to turn attention into investor signups. We run the campaign. The issuer and their platform handle the offering itself.
Investor CRM
Setup and ongoing management of a pipeline that tracks every investor from first contact through commitment. That includes follow-up sequences and engagement tracking.
Investor data
List building, segmentation, and matching work, so outreach goes to people plausibly interested in the type of offering being marketed.
IR support
Investor updates, communication cadence, and reporting support for founders who are actively raising and need to keep existing investors informed.
We do not publish a rate card. For general market context on what this kind of work costs, read the cost to hire an equity crowdfunding marketing agency.
How we report results
Elsewhere on this site you'll see aggregate figures about deals supported, capital raised by clients, and the size of our investor database. Those come from our own internal records. They are self-reported, and they have not been independently audited.
We're not going to repeat them here as proof of anything.
Judge us on what you can check yourself: the clients we name publicly, the person behind the company, and a direct conversation. When we can publish sourced, verifiable numbers, we will, and we'll show the source when we do.
What do reviews say about Pre-IPO Hype?
Honestly, there isn't a large public review footprint yet. Pre-IPO Hype is a small, founder-led agency. Most of our work comes from referrals and direct relationships, not review-site listings.
We're not going to pad this page with testimonials you can't trace.
What you can check today:
- Clients we name publicly: Good Thoughts Health, Lodestone Biomedical, and Aerovec.
- Jeff Wenzel's LinkedIn: real name, real history, real professional network.
- A direct conversation. Ask us for client references and we'll connect you with people who have actually worked with us.
Some of our published case studies are anonymized or blended at the client's request. Raising capital is sensitive and not every founder wants their raise written up by name. We'd rather flag that than present anonymized work as if it were independently verifiable.
